Paul bought his first Frogeye in 1980, Sharon had her first solo drive in the car when she passed her test in 1981, they then bought a second Frogeye. The couple went on honeymoon to Paris Paul’s Frog in 1983, they still own both cars to this day. They started sprinting & hill climbing their road cars before moving on to a purpose built circuit racer. Over the years, success followed both in their own cars & when Paul was asked to race cars for owners, many of whom have since become close friends. From these successes the pair started to receive enquiries to prepare cars for others. Eventually an all-consuming hobby became a business. Initially specialising in Austin Healeys, success brought enquiries from owners of other marques & models, today we prepare a wide range including MG, Elva, Turner, HWM, Cooper, Tojeiro & Alfa. Son Richard joined the business whilst studying at Silverstone Motorsport College.

Today WCE employs a great team of local people, working from Paul & Sharon’s home in beautiful North Bedfordshire. We build lasting relationships with our clients & their cars. In addition to looking after classic road cars, we prepare cars for a range of events including Goodwood Revival, Festival of Speed & Members Meeting, Classic Le Mans, Mille Miglia, Peking to Paris, Round the World Rally, New Zealand Rally, Tour Auto, Salon Prive, Hampton Court Palace Concours & many more.

Paul is recognised as a leading authority on ex-works BMC competition cars, Austin Healeys’ in particular. WCE look after an impressive selection of these ex-works cars for clients, many form part of discrete private collections which WCE oversee.

Richard has built a reputation as a safe pair of hands in his trademark fast & spectacular style, having taken a win & several podiums at Goodwood Revival & also at other venues.

Paul & Richard’s race experience pay huge dividends when setting up cars. We have helped many novice drivers on their motorsport journey, many to become trophy winners. Our FIA MGB & Escort Mk1 RS2000 hire cars are a great way to ‘try before you buy’.
